Error description

  • If the symbol table grows beyond a certain size, e.g.
256Kb then it can trigger abends that include the following
    XLXP function call :

    SymbolTable_scanQNameBuffered2 from
    /opt/ibm/mqsi/iib-10.0.0.11/server/xlxpc/lib/libBIPNVBRT.so.11

    255)">/opt/ibm/mqsi/iib-10.0.0.11/server/xlxpc/l</span>

The reason being a growth in the internal symbol table used by
    the parser.
The issue may appear in SOAP, DataObject parsers as they
internally make use of XMLNSC parser.

Problem conclusion

  • A new property named 'symbolTableThresholdInKB' is introduced
for XMLNSC parser which can be used to set an upper limit on its
internal symbol table size. It can be set as below

    mqsichangeproperties node_name -e server_name -o
    ComIbmGenericXmlParserFactory -n symbolTableThresholdInKB -v
<value in kb. for eg: 1>

For stand-alone integration servers, the property can be set in
the server.conf.yaml under the XMLNSC section.

With this property being set, the XMLNSC parser will release all
its cached objects once its symbol table size reaches the
threshold value. You can see the following message in activity
    log when this happens

    <span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">BIP11311W :
The parser of type 'XMLNSC' has been reset due to the
    symbolTableThresholdInKB threshold being reached. </span>
