Error description

  • When the MQ 'ping channel' is issued against a channel that does
    not support this command, an AMQ9512 message is recorded in the
    AMQERR*.LOG with the following text:

    AMQ9512: Ping operation is not valid for channel
    'SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN'.
    
    EXPLANATION:
    Ping may only be issued for SENDER, SERVER or CLUSSDR channel
    types.
    Also, it may not be issued for an SSL channel on the HP-UX or
    Linux platforms.
    
    ACTION:
    If the local channel is a receiver channel, you must issue the
     ping from the remote queue manager.

    The restriction in the above text for SSL channels is incorrect.

    In the explanation section of AMQ9512 error message, it was
    incorrectly stated that PING CHANNEL may not be issued for SSL
    CHANNEL on Linux or HP-UX.

    corrected.
