APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The server can crash when trying to report ANR8925W message:
"ANR8925W   Drive drive name in library library name has not
been confirmed for use by server server name for over elapsed
time seconds. Drive will be reclaimed for use by others."
during the library manager poll of all the mountpoints in a
device class..
This can be seen  when library or drives cannot be seen by the
operating system
Such an example could be when database is restored to an
alternate host which has different tape library and drives.

After restart of server, the problem devices will be detailed
when attempting initializing:

errno 2 is 'no such file or directory'

  • Rediscover the devices on operating system or update the paths
to use a valid  device name(s)
