APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When opening a queue manager's DEFXMITQ on an MQ Queue Manager
that has activity trace enabled, a failure data capture (FDC)
record is generated, reporting SIGSEGV or access violation
occurs and the activity trace is not be written.

Local fix

  • Disabling activity trace will stop the FDCs from being
    generated.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users who have a configuration which opens a defined DEFXMITQ on
their Queue Manager and have activity trace enabled.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
In the MQ queue resolution routines, if the specified queue
cannot be resolved to its target queue manager, the DEFXMITQ (if
defined)is used to hold the message. When opening this queue, if
Activity Trace was enabled, an FDC record would be written due
to an Access Violation on the Queue Manager.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been updated so the access violation no longer
    occurs in this scenario.
