Error description

  • With '-1' value being set for MaximumSize or UpdatePercentage in
    the mqclient.ini file, an incorrect AMQ7076W error message is
    being generated.
    For example: If the following values are set in mqclient.ini
    file
    MessageBuffer:
       MaximumSize=-1
       UpdatePercentage=-1

    then following error messages are generated
    AMQ7076W: Invalid value for attribute in ini file.

    EXPLANATION:
    Line 33 of the configuration file
    'C:\ProgramData\IBM\MQ\mqclient.ini'
    contained value '-1' that is not valid for the attribute
    'MaximumSize'.

    AMQ7076W: Invalid value for attribute in ini file.

    EXPLANATION:
    Line 35 of the configuration file
    'C:\ProgramData\IBM\MQ\mqclient.ini'
    contained value '-1' that is not valid for the attribute
    'UpdatePercentage'.

    But '-1' is a valid value for both MaximumSize and
    UpdatePercentage as explained in below knowledge center link
    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSFKSJ_9.1.0/com.

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Additional qm.ini validation logic added in Continuous Delivery
    release 9.0.5 did not correctly account for the -1 value being
    valid for these two attributes.

Problem conclusion

  • The queue manager's qm.ini validation logic has been corrected
    to accept -1 as a valid value for the MaximumSize and
    UpdatePercentage attributes under the MessageBuffer stanza.
