Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of IBM MQ V8 and later who connect
    applications using a
    SVRCONN channel.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If ChlAuthEarlyAdopt adopt was enabled, and a connection attempt
was blocked based on a BLOCKUSR CHLAUTH rule, then the
application received MQRC 2035 as expected, but the
corresponding AMQ9777 error message was not
written to the queue manager's error log. If channel events
were enabled then a MQRC_CHANNEL_BLOCKED event was put on the
    event queue

In addition, if the SVRCONN channel MCAUSER = *NOACCESS then the
MQRC_CHANNEL_BLOCKED event may have been reported erroneously
in situations when the channel was not blocked by a CHLAUTH
    rule.

The issue was caused by a programming error in the queue
    manager.

Problem conclusion

  • This error has been corrected to ensure that AMQ9777 is reported
when necessary and to prevent erroneous MQRC_CHANNEL_BLOCKED
    events being reported.
