APAR status

Error description

  • During LANFree operations, entering an ADMIN ID and password
    instead of a NODE ID and password while using the
    -VIRTUALNODENAME option, it causes an authentication failure and
     is signaled by an ANR0424W in the server activity log.  As a
    result, data movement becomes LAN instead of LANFree.
    
    In detail,
    There is the password unmatch condition between NODE ID and
    ADMIN ID with passwordaccess generation.  User needs to specify
    NODE ID and the password for each prompt when user
    restore/retrieve the data to another client node with
    virtualnodename option.
    
    
     dsmc retrieve  /tsmxxxx/yyyyy.bin /work_xxxx/
    -virtualnodename=zzzzzz
    
     Retrieve function invoked.
    
     Node Name: zzzzzz
     Please enter your user id <zzzzzz>:
     Please enter password for user id "zzzzzz":
    
    
    When user specifies ADMIN password for password prompt instead
    of NODE password, server activitylog records "ANR0424W  Session
    session number for node node name ( client platform ) refused -
    invalid password submitted." at that time.
    
    restore/retrieve is completed with ADMIN ID's password
    certification, although the warning message is appeared.  But
    the data is transferred via LAN, not LANFree. So "LAN-free data
    movement" is  0 byte.

  • use asnodename or fromnode option
     or

Problem conclusion
