Error description

  • The current Aggregate nodes allow flow developers to implement
message aggregation patterns in IIB. These nodes require MQ and
a local queue manager for the Integration Server. An alternative
will be provided that stores aggregation data in memory
rather than on MQ so that message aggregation can be done
    without any external state.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
There is no out of the box support for implementation of an
entirely in-memory Scatter/Gather implementation. The existing
solutions (Aggregate Nodes, Collector Node) require an IBM MQ
Queue Manager to be defined on the Integration Node.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR introduces three new nodes into IBM App Connect
Enterprise v11, and IBM Integration Bus v10 on AIX, Linux
x86-64, Windows x86-64, and z/OS. These three nodes are the
Group Scatter node, the Group Gather node, and the Group
Complete node. These three nodes offer an alternative to the
existing Aggregate nodes, which are not being removed or
deprecated by this APAR, which does not use MQ by instead
storing all message state in the process memory of the
    Integration Server.

The Group Scatter node signals the beginning of a new message
group, supported output nodes downstream of the Group Scatter's
out terminal can opt-in to the message group using new node
properties. Other transports are supported through the use of
    Environment overrides.

The Group Gather node is responsible for collecting replies from
backend systems and reconciling them with known in-flight
groups. Additionally it is responsible for cataloguing unknown
messages, such as early replies, or duplicate responses.

The Group Complete is a new "input"-like node that produces new
messages for completed groups, timed-out groups, and timed-out
    unknown messages.

Further details about these new nodes and how to use them can be
    found in the Knowledge Center.
