Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM Integration Bus and IBM App Connect Enterprise
    using the HTTPRequest node.

    Platforms affected:
    z/OS, MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a Security Profile, with Propagation property set as True,
is set on HTTP/SOAP Request node, it will try to authenticate
whenever the endpoint returns a 401 response (e.g. by providing
the basicauth header). If the authentication does not succeed,
the HTTPRequest node will re-attempt a maximum of 16 times
before propagating the message out of its error terminal.
However, the message propagated out of the error terminal, after
the 16 attempts, may not have the right header and body.

Problem conclusion

  • The HTTPRequest node is fixed to propagate the actual response
header and body, through the error terminal, in case it could
    not authenticate a 401 response.
