  • The backup of VMs fails with following messages in the joblog:

    Review the virgo log for the following entries:
    
    Failure stack trace: java.lang.NullPointerException: null
    at
    com.catalogic.ecx.serviceprovider.protection.hypervisor.common.H
    ypervisorProviderUtils$HypervisorResourceResolver.getResolvedVir
    tualMachines
    
    If there is a null pointer pointing to the
    getResolvedVirtualMachines function, this APAR applies.
    If a resource (VM, Tag, datastore, ...) on the vCenter was
    associated with a SLA and then the resource was deleted or
    modified by moving it elsewhere, Spectrum Protect Plus might run
    into this problem.

Problem conclusion

  • It was determined that this problem occurs if a resource on
    the vCenter associated with an SLA Policy is deleted or moved.
    Spectrum Protect Plus has been updated to resolve this
    condition.
