Error description
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus documentation does not make any mention of disk provisioning for vSnap storage. The documentation should state that thick provisioning is recommended for accurate views of available space. Using thin provisioned disks limits Spectrum Protect Plus from identifying a lack of space within the datastore that prevents the expansion of the vSnap storage pool. The documentation does not make references on how to manage the removal of existing vSnap storage volumes which cannot be used, for example if they were created with the wrong provisioning. The documentation should provide guidance on how to correctly manage the vSnap storage volumes in situations where it is necessary to remove them. Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.0, 10.1.1 Initial Impact: Low Additional Keywords: SPP

Problem conclusion
The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus User's Guide and Knowledge Center were enhanced to include (a) the requirement that disks attached to vSnap must be thick provisioned; and (b) a statement that once a disk has been added to a raid0 pool it cannot be removed; disconnecting the disk will result in the pool becoming unavailable and the only solution is to destroy and recreate the pool.
