IT24903: CLIENT ERROR GSKKM_ERR_FILE_WRITE IS THROWN IF UNC FORMAT IS USED WITH CLUSTERSHAREDFOLDER OPTION

Error description

• The IBM Spectrum Protect Client records the following error in
  the dsmerr.log and prompts each time for a password:
  
  ANS1579E GSKit function GSKKM_StashKeyDbPwd failed with 91:
  GSKKM_ERR_FILE_WRITE
  
  The GSKit function GSKKM_StashKeyDbPwd attempts to write encoded
  password to the TSM.KDB file, which resides on a cluster shared
  volume defined by the client option CLUSTERSHAREDFOLDER in UNC
  format "\\cluster\d$\pwdstore" with local Administrator having
  'full control' permissions, however GSKit API is unable to write
  to it, fails with GSKKM_ERR_FILE_WRITE error and prompts for
  password. If shared folder "\\cluster\d$\pwdstore" is mapped to
  a drive letter, for example x: then GSKit API is able to write
  to it and does not prompt for password.

Local fix

• - Remove all files (.kdb, .idx and .sth)  in the cluster shared
  folder directories and subdirectories
  - Map "\\cluster\d$\pwdstore" to any drive letter (for example
  x:) and use non-UNC format "CLUSTERSHAREDFOLDER X:\"

Problem conclusion
