When a password is expiring the client should display message ANS8004W indicating how many days until the password expires. For example, ANS8004W Your password will expire within 1 day(s). Instead, the following message is displayed: $ dsmadmc IBM Spectrum Protect Command Line Administrative Interface - Version 8, Release 1, Level 2.0 (c) Copyright by IBM Corporation and other(s) 1990, 2017. All Rights Reserved. Enter your user id: jdoe Enter your password: ANS1051I Invalid user id or password
Local fix
Update the admin or nodename password on the server and reattempt the operation.

Problem conclusion
If the admin id or nodename is managed by LDAP, and it will expire soon, then the client may fail to authenticate and display 'ANS1051I Invalid user id or password', or may continue but not display message 'ANS8004W Your password will expire within 1 day(s)'. After applying the fix, the client will display message 'ANS8004W Your password will expire within 1 day(s)' when an LDAP password is expiring soon.
