APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During an off-load from IBM Spectrum Protect Plus to
    IBM Spectrum Protect, the off-load can fail with
    the following errors:
    Create VMs: Failed to create VM (MyVM1_1005). Error =
     (HypervisorVMReconfException).
    Create VMs: Failed to reconfigure VM (MyVM1_1005).
    Exception (com.catalogic.ecx.serviceprovider.common.
    hypervisor.exception.
    HypervisorVMReconfException) reports:
    (Invalid configuration for device 'X'.)
    Note: 'X' can be any number.
    The vpxd-xxx.log (xxx can be any number) will show:

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been resolved by improved parsing logic when
    the application is confronted with a distributed virtual switch
    connection during the offload process.
