  • An SSL/TLS-enabled MQ connection fails with AMQ9620 error

    AMQ9620: Internal error on call to SSL function on channel

    EXPLANATION:
    An error indicating a software problem was returned from a
    function
    which is used to provide SSL or TLS support.
    The error code returned was '5'.
    The function call was 'gsk_secure_soc_read'.

Problem summary

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A timing window existed whereby MQ did not correctly handle
    receiving the EAGAIN error code when reading data asynchronously
    from the socket. Within this window, this error code was treated
    as an unexpected error, which terminated the connection.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ logic, used by both queue managers and native clients, to
    read data asynchronously from an SSL/TLS socket has been updated
    to correctly handle the EAGAIN error code in this scenrio.
