IT23302: VALID EMAIL TLDS REQUIRES UPDATING MEMBER-SERVER.JAR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• MemberDataLoadHelper in Member-Server.jar loads a whitelist of
  valid TLDs from a local dataload.properties file.
  
  This list is out of date with regard to
  http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db, and in particular missing
  the TLD .cymru (but also many many others)
  
  In addition, it is likely that a customer will need to chose
  their own valid TLDs, as the full list is extremely long, and
  contains many character sets.
  
  Configuring this whitelist should be made accessible to the
  customer via a run-time parameter.
  
  Currently the only option to add missing TLDs is to manually
  update and deploy Member-Server.jar.  This is at risk of being
  overwritten by product updates.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The whitelist of valid TLDs is loaded from a local
  dataload.properties file, manually updating it is cumbersome
  and risks being overwritten.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code fix is necessary to overcome this.
  

Temporary fix

• To add missing TLDs, manually update and deploy
  Member-Server.jar.
