• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The journal-based backup of a Windows drive logs the ANS1802E
  error under the following conditions :
  
  1. A file is processed which contains a tilde (~) character
     in its path.
  2. The tilde character in the file path uses the same format as
     a Windows short name of a long name while there is actually
     no associated short name.
  3. The file is a temporary file. It was recorded in the journal
     database as a new file to be backed up but the file is
     deleted before it is backed up.
  4. The PRESERVEDBONEXIT=1 option is configured in the
     tsmjbbd.ini file.
  
  The backup logs the ANS1802E error but does not log any
  other error identifying the file causing the failure.
  For example, the backup logs the following messages :

  Run the "dir /x" command to view the short name of
  the path. For example :
  
  X:\>dir "aaa\bbb bbb\ccc" /x

  In this example, the "ZZZZZZZZZ" directory uses a long name,
  also identified by its short name of "ZZZZZZ~1".
  The "DDDDDD~1" directory uses a short name format without
  having a short name associated to it.

Local fix

• Use PRESERVEDBONEXIT=0 in the tsmjbbd.ini file or exclude
  the problematic file from backup to prevent the ANS1802E
  error from being logged.

Problem conclusion

• Client changed in order not to process the DOS 8.3 names usually
