IT22626: LOAD IN ENCRYPTED DATABASE WILL LEAK SOME ENCRYPTION RELATED MEMORY BLOCKS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The size of the blocks will depend on the platform and will not
    show up in 'db2pd -memblocks'.

However using a simple debugger script to catch malloc/free
calls you will be able to detect those blocks.
A regular pmap/procmap/svmon would as well over time, depending
on the activity, show the heap
    growing for the db2sysc process.

With a debugger script you should see that the blocks left
    around are coming from below
function 'cryptAllocateCachedMemory()'. Each load related EDU
will leak about 4 or 5 small
    size blocks.

This issue only applies to encrypted databases.
