IBM Spectrum Protect Server V8.1 Fix Pack 3 (V8.1.3) Downloads
APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
The SHOW THREADS command on Linux can interact with other server threads that are waiting for a fixed timeout by changing the timeout period to 4294967295 microseconds (about 1.19 hours). Each repeated invocation of SHOW THREADS, such as when invoked by the performance monitoring scripts, resets the wait period back to 4294967295 microseconds, resulting in threads that effectively hang forever. IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected: 8.1.2.
Local fix
Do not run the SHOW THREADS command.
