APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In the case that an application makes more than one connection
to a SVRCONN channel defined with sharecnv > 1 and a security
exit defined, the security exit can be called for the initial
conversation but not for subsequent ones.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Any MQ user using Security Exits on a SVRCONN channel with
    SHARECNV > 1.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Due to a defect in the logic of the MQ channel code, additional
conversations allocated on an existing SVRCONN channel instance
did not re-invoke security exits when multiple conversations
were made over the same channel instance. This resulted in
security errors as the SVRCONN channel hadn't had chance to set
up the appropriate user information for the second conversation.

Problem conclusion

  • The Queue Manager channel logic has been updated so that
configured security exits are invoked for every conversation on
    a channel instance.
