APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a failure occurs for the IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases,
  Data Protection for SQL backup, the SQL Server may still show
  this as available for restore within the msdb backup history.
  Any Differential or log backups taken after the failed FULL will
  process successfully, but a restore is not possible since the
  full backup failed. Additionally, the failed backup is not seen
  in the Data Protection SQL GUI and cannot be selected for a
  restore.

  DIAGNOSTICS:
  The Data Protect for SQL error log may show entries similar to:
  01/16/2017 08:54:25 ACO5436E A failure occurred on stripe number
  (0), rc = 418
  01/16/2017 08:54:25 FMV1311E (RC11)   Server out of data storage
  space
  The Windows Event Log and SQL Server log would have entries
  similar to:
  2017-01-16 08:54:25.37 Backup      Database backed up. Database:
  master, creation date(time): 2017/01/16(07:41:31), pages dumped:
  442, first LSN: 219:456:73, last LSN: 219:504:1, number of dump
  devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=VIRTUAL_DEVICE:
  {'TDPSQL-00002A80-0000'}). This is an informational message
  only. No user action is required.
  2017-01-16 08:54:25.40 Backup      BACKUP DATABASE successfully
  processed 435 pages in 1.083 seconds (3.137 MB/sec).
  
  If a query is made against the SQL backup history within the
  msdb database, this will list the full backup, even though it
  failed.
