Error description
After upgrading from MQ v7.5 or earlier to MQ v8 or v9, the amqsmon sample application shipped with MQ fails to run. . In MQ V7.5, amqsmon.exe is in the Tools\c\Samples\Bin directory. This Samples\Bin path was set in the PATH environment variable by MQ installation. Therefore, amqsmon sample runs without explicitly editing the path to include Samples\Bin folder. . In MQ V8, amqsmon.exe is in the Tools\c\Samples\Bin64 directory, however Samples\Bin64 path is not set in the PATH environment variable by MQ installation. Therefore, amqsmon samples fails to run without explicitly editing the PATH to include Samples\Bin64 folder. . In MQ v8, after MQ installation, one possible PATH output is as following: -- C:\Users\XXX>set PATH Path=C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\java\lib;C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\java\lib64;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32 \Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files(x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin64;C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin;C:\Program Files(x86)\IBM\WebSphere MQ\tools\c\samples\bin . The above PATH output shows that Tools\c\Samples\Bin64 is not included to the PATH output by MQ after installation.
Local fix
Include <MQ_Install_DIR>\Tools\c\Samples\Bin64 to the PATH environment variable.

Platforms affected: Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A coding error in the MQ installation routines meant that the Tools\c\Samples\Bin was included in the PATH although windows queue manager were 64-bit and most of the samples are available in Tools\c\Samples\Bin64 folder.
Problem conclusion
