Error description

  • The IBM MQ Appliance reloads unexpectedly because of an SSH
    server crash. The error report captured during the crash is
    likely to show the signal number 0xb and component SSHServer.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    IBM MQ Appliance users running a lot of concurrent SSH scripts
    and/or running SSH scripts very often for monitoring the
    appliance and the queue manager.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform
    
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    This problem occurred because the IBM MQ Appliance SSH server
    crashed after dereferencing a NULL pointer which caused a memory
    exception (SIGSEGV).  This crash caused the Appliance to reload.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ Appliance SSH server code has been modified to
    resolve the memory exception problem.
