Error description

  • Data Protection for VMware vSphere GUI initial configuration
hang at "Verify data mover nodes" step due to single sign-on
(SSO) log in issue. For example, if IBM Spectrum Protect for
Virtual Environments fails to get SSO endpoint from vCenter
because of insufficient permission, the client error log shows
    ANS2378W message:

ANS2378W The single sign-on session to the Platform Services
Controller (PSC) failed with the following message:
"Permission to perform this operation was denied."

Then it keeps trying for 20 minutes and times out:

ANS2378W The single sign-on session to the Platform Services
Controller (PSC) failed with the following message:
"End of file or no input: Operation interrupted or timed out
    (1200 s recv delay) (1200 s send delay)"
    Detail: [no detail]

    Products affected:
IBM Spectrum Protect Backup-Archive Client version
    7.1.6 on Linux and Windows
Note: The Backup-Archive Client is a prerequisite to using the
Data Protection for VMware. In Data Protection for VMware
environments, the Backup-Archive Client is also known as the
    data mover.

This problem also affects IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual
