Error description

  • If the dmpmqcfg utility is used from an MQ installation on a
    distributed platform to dump configuration of z/OS queue
    manager, an additional 'REPLACE' is added in the output.

    For example:
      dmpmqcfg -m <QM1> -c "DEFINE CHANNEL(SRV01) CHLTYPE(CLNTCONN)
    CONNAME ('QM1(1415)')" -q APP.DMPCFG_QM2 -r QM2 -a

    where
      QM1 = QM on Linux
      QM2 = QM on z/OS

    The command gives back the configuration details with an extra
    'REPLACE'

    DEFINE AUTHINFO('SYSTEM.DEFAULT.AUTHINFO.CRLLDAP') +
       AUTHTYPE(CRLLDAP) +
       QSGDISP(QMGR) +
       CONNAME(' ') +
       LDAPUSER(' ') +
       LDAPPWD(' ') +
       DESCR(' ') +
    *  ALTDATE(2007-11-09) +
    *  ALTTIME(14.46.49) +
       REPLACE
    .
    .
       REPLACE

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users who use dmpmqcfg to remotely dump the configuration of a
    z/OS queue manager are affected. This issue applies when
    PSMODE(DISABLED) is set on the z/OS queue manager.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    With PSMODE(DISABLED) on the z/OS queue manager, default
    subscriptions will not be available. When dmpmqcfg makes a query
    for subscriptions in this case, a blank output is sent. The
    dmpmqcfg utility did not properly interpret this response, and
    incorrect added the additional REPLACE line.

Problem conclusion

  • The dmpmqcfg utility has been updated to correctly handle this
    blank reply when PSMODE(DISABLED) is set on the remote z/OS
    queue manager.
