Error description

  • The installation of the IBM MQ LTS client on a Windows system
    fails with error "-2147287038" which translates to "%1 could not
    be found".The installation log shows:

Local fix

  • Copy IBM MQ 32bitSupport.msi from
    "%mq_install_media_path%\Windows\MSI\x86\" to
    "%mq_install_media_path%\Windows\MSI\",
    and Copy IBM MQ 64bitSupport.msi from
    "%mq_install_media_path%\Windows\MSI\x64\" to
    "%mq_install_media_path%\Windows\MSI\"

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The IBM MQ V9 LTS Client installation on Windows was failing
    with error 1713 as the installer was unable to locate the MQ 32
    bit C runtime package (IBM WebSphere MQ 32bitSupport.msi) and 64
    bit C runtime package (IBM WebSphere MQ 64bitSupport.msi) in the
    installation package, due to incorrect location specified in the
    scripts.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ installation scripts have been modified to pick the 32
    bit C runtime package and 64 bit C runtime package correctly.
