Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users using AMQP Listener Service.

    Platforms affected:
    Linux on x86-64

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The AMQP listener service did not correctly handle the case
where a operating system shared-memory semaphore was removed
outside the control of MQ. The failure to handle this scenario
resulted in an illegal memory access, which terminated the
    listener process.

Problem conclusion

  • The code is modified such that the error in obtaining the
subpool lock is handled and the AMQP Listener thread ends
    gracefully.

It is not expected that MQ's shared memory resources will be
removed outside of MQ's control. Users should refrain from
attempting to perform such removal. Any unexpected removal of
MQ's shared memory resources should be investigated by the
    operating system administrator.
