APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a large number of instances are deployed on the System, a
significant amount of time is being spent performing SSL
    handshakes between internal components.

The size of the SSL cache in some of the internal management
services was not sufficient to cover the larger number of unique
incoming SSL requests. Thus, the existing cache was too small
to be effective, causing more SSL connections than were
necessary to initiate a new SSL handshake upon request.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The code has been updated to increase the size of the SSL cache
for these internal services to a point where most can reuse the
    SSL connections.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System
    version 2.2.2.2.
