APAR status

Error description

  • Within an appliance HA/DR queue manager configuration it is not
possible to change the preferred HA appliance while in the DR
secondary role.

USERS AFFECTED:
Users of the IBM MQ Appliance who have established two
appliances in a high availability configuration plus a third
appliance for disaster recovery.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The requirement to end queue managers prior to issuing disaster
recovery commands (eg makedrsecondary) could leave the
underlying resources in a state that was unable to respond to
high availability commands until the queue manager is restarted.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The disaster recovery commands have been updated to work with
running queue managers, leaving the underlying resources able to
respond to high availability commands.
