APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After applying MQ Appliance firmware 8.0.0.4 or higher, the test
hardware command reports [failure] Fibre Channel HBA : invalid.
Example:
  [failure] Fibre Channel HBA 'fch1' WWPN : invalid.
  [failure] Fibre Channel HBA 'fch2' WWPN : invalid.
Previous firmware versions do not show this error.

As there is no support for fibre channel connections in the MQ
Appliance v8 firmware, this error can be safely ignored.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An internal hardware flag was not set correctly, which was
reported as a failure by the test hardware command. This did not
affect the operation of the MQ Appliance.

Problem conclusion

  • The firmware code has been corrected so that the error text will
no longer appear when the test hardware command is run.
