Error description
If a NAS /etc/exports file contains a exported volume entry that includes the actual=<value> option, and netapp 7-mode is in use then SNAPDIFF backups will fail. For example, if /etc/exports has an entry such as: /<name of export> -actual=<actual mount point> So that a 'mount' run against the client node would show <NAShostname>:<actual mountpoint> points to <local mount point> And then a SNAPDIFF backup is run against that <local mount point> the backup will fail: # dsmc incr -snapdiff -createnewbase=yes <local mount point> IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Command Line Backup-Archive Client Interface Client Version 7, Release 1, Level 6.2 Client date/time: 08/22/2016 18:43:02 (c) Copyright by IBM Corporation and other(s) 1990, 2016.
