Error description

  • Failure data capture (FDC) records reporting the following are
    seen after ending the qmgr:
      Probe Id          :- HL010004
      Component         :- hlgReserveLogSpace
      Program Name      :- amqzxma0
      Addressing mode   :- 64-bit
      Major Errorcode   :- hrcE_LOG_FULL
      Probe Description :- AMQ6709: The log for the queue
                            manager is full
    This causes corruption to the queue file and results in
    errors starting the queue manager.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A logic omission in the queue compaction routines meant that if
    the log became full while performing queue compaction, the
    incomplete current operation was not correctly backed out when
    handling the log full condition. This failure to roll back a
    partial operation could result in the queue file being left in
    an inconsistent state, which would prevent the queue file being
    read by the queue manager on restart.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The queue manager's queue compaction logic has been modified to
    roll back partial operations in the event of a log full
    condition.
