Error description

  • After stopping an MQ 7.5 queue manager, an attempt to
restart it results in a Failure Data Capture (FDC) record
    showing:
      Probe Id :- AQ066010
      Component :- aqhAllocateSpace
      Program Name :- amqzlaa0
      Major Errorcode :- arcE_OBJECT_DAMAGED
      Probe Id :- AQ051000
      Component :- aqsStartQOp
      Program Name :- amqzlaa0
      Major Errorcode :- STOP_ALL
      Probe Type :- HALT6110

Local fix

  • Restore the affected queue file from a backup or log media image
    if available

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of IBM MQ who have suffered a corruption of their queue
file and are attempting to start their queue manager.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A coding error when generating the arcE_OBJECT_DAMAGED FDC to
report a corrupted queue file caused an illegal memory access.
This in turn caused queue manager to terminate itself via an
    internal STOP_ALL signal.

Problem conclusion

  • The coding error has been resolved so that, if the queue file is
corrupted, the FDC is correctly generated and the queue manager
    will continue to run.
