Error description
When MQ Light applications create a durable subscription (for example by setting the MQ Light destination-ttl attribute), all messages published by other MQ Light applications to that subscriber become persistent MQ messages, even if the DEFPSIST attribute of the matching MQ Topic object is set to NO.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Customers that wish to send non-persistent MQ Light messages to MQ Light applications that have created durable subscriptions. Platforms affected: Linux on Power, Linux on x86-64, Solaris x86-64, Solaris SPARC, Linux on zSeries, Linux on S390, HP-UX PA-RISC, HP-UX Itanium, AIX, Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The problem was caused by incorrect handling of published MQ Light messages by the AMQP channel.
Problem conclusion
If an AMQP or MQ Light publisher doesn't specify the persistence of a message by setting the AMQP 'durable' header, the AMQP channel now correctly uses the value of the DEFPSIST attribute of the matching MQ Topic object, rather than forcing all messages to durable subscriptions to be persistent. Note: If the AMQP publisher specifies a valid durable header in its message, the value of this is always honoured and the DEFPSIST attribute is ignored. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v8.0 8.0.0.6 v9.0 CD 9.0.1 v9.0 LTS 9.0.0.1 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
