Error description

• HSM managed GPFS file-systems can experience a large number of
  sockets in TIME_WAIT state.  These TIME_WAIT state sockets
  can disrupt other network services such as NFS.
  Problem investigation will show the TIME-WAIT sessions are all
  associated with /usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/mmsdrquery
  

Local fix

• HSM option "HSMDISTRibutedrecall NO" can provide some relief to
  this issue.

Problem conclusion

• HSM code now check the the HSM nodes availability when it is
  really needed, this behavior reduces the overall number of
  TCP/IP sockets in TIME_WAIT state.
