Error description

• A very large NAS volume ( some millions of files stored ) backup
  may fail after running for a long time with the following error
  messages:
  
   ANR1071E NAS Backup to TSM Storage process x terminated -
    read errors encountered. (SESSION: xx, PROCESS: x)
   ANR3616E An error occurred. More information might be
    available in the dsmserv.err file. (SESSION: xx, PROCESS: x)
  
  This may happen if the NAS volume is very large, and if this is
  a filer to server backup.
  The reason is that the NAS device needs a long time to identify
  files on the volume that need to be backed up.
  During that time, there is no data transfer to the server.
  After a while the server times out waiting for activity on the
  data connection and stops the backup.
  For very large volumes the default timeout value may be too
  short.
  The problem may happen during FULL or DIFF backups, and it may
  affect standard volumes or virtualfsmapping.
  
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 6.3 , 7.1 on all
   platforms
