Error description
When IBM Spectrum Protect client performs a fileset snapshot files larger than 100 MB, and files referred to with a symbolic link can report the following messages in the dsmerror.log file: ANS1228E Sending of object 'object-nameobjectnameobject-name' failed. ANS4005E Error processing 'filespace namepath-namefile-name': file not found The message ANS4005E "file not found", is false because the file is identified during the initial dsmc client discovery and does exist on the filesystem. The SERVICE trace of the dsmc command will first show the file is found as shown in the following example: fs : /fs/w.c/users/.snapshots/mmbackupSnap20160316-w.c.users hl : /file_path ll : /file.txt Later the client will parse the same file again with a false result: fs : /fs/w.c/users/.snapshots/mmbackupSnap20160316-w.c.users hl : /w.c/users/file_path ll : /file.txt Initial Impact: Medium - rarely happens. . IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected: Client versions 7.1.3.0 and above. . Additional Keywords: GPFS mmbackup ANS1228E ANS4005E dsmc client Spectrum Protect fileset snapshot
Local fix
Instead of taking a fileset snapshot for backup, take a whole-file-system snapshot followed by a fileset backup.

Problem conclusion
Customer makes backups of a GPFS filesystem with mmbackup to a TSM server. The filesystem has several filesets and customer create a separate snapshot per fileset and do an mmbackup of it. Before fixing the issue after backup for some files, the 'dsmerror.log' shows ANS1228E and ANS4005E errors ('file not found'). With the fix the mmbackup finished successful now without dsmerror.log entries.
