Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users installing IBM MQ v8 on a system where one or more earlier
versions of MQ are already installed.

    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The IBM MQ v8 installer was incorrectly attempting to modify the
runtime libraries associated with the earlier installation of
MQ. This created an associate between the v8 installation and
the earlier runtime, which could lead to the 1316 error if the
    v8 installation was uninstalled.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ v8 installer code has been modified such that it does not
attempt to modify the runtime libraries from other MQ versions.
