Error description
Prior to version 7.1.3 of the Operations Center, scheduled client backups completing with an RC 8 were not being tagged as documented, within the Clients tab. The Operations Center contex help documentation shows that scheduled backups completing with an RC 8 should be classified with a WARNING and as AT RISK. APAR IT09612 resolved this issue. However, this APAR now caused customers success rate for scheduled client backups to significantly drop. This was due to WARNINGS (RC 8) being classified as AT RISK. An RC 8 is to be treated as a success, but indicate a warning occurred during the backup and to review the logs to determine the impact of the WARNING reported. Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: Operations Center 7.1.3 and above Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable) The Overview tab on the Operations Center shows a significant higher percentage of clients that are At Risk. Local fix
Issue a QUERY EVENT * * TYPE=CLEINT FORMAT=DETAIL against your HUB or SPOKE servers and review the output. Review the dsmerror.log and dsmsched.log for any scheduled client backup that shows a "Completed" status and a result of "8": TSMOCHUB> QUERY EVENT * * TYPE=CLEINT FORMAT=DETAIL ... Schedule Name Node Name ... Completed Status Result ------------- --------- ----------------- ------ DAILYBACKUP CROGERS Completed 8 Review logs for any ANSnnnnW messages and resolve the warning. Resolving the warning messages will decrease the number of At Risk scheduled client backups.
