Error description

  • When using MQ 7.5 or MQ 8.0 dmpmqcfg, the resulting output does
not have long selectors that have more than 2048 characters
split into smaller segments of 2048 characters or less. This
results on a runtime problem with runmqsc when providing the
    output of dmpmqcfg as input:

AMQ8405: Syntax error detected at or near end of command
    segment below:-
    DEFINE SUB('SUB1') SELECTOR('
AMQ8427: Valid syntax for the MQSC command

Local fix

  • The lines in runmqsc commands should be split into segments of
2048 or fewer characters including leading and trailing spaces
but excluding the continuation char +.
    For example:
      DEFINE SUB('SUB1') +
SELECTOR('This is a long selector, need to break it +
    into smaller segments')

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users with administrative subscriptions where either the
TOPICSTR or the SELECTOR is so long as to require a runmqsc
definition to be split into two lines, and where the
subscriptions are listed in runmqsc output using dmpmqcfg.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Long lines of more than 2048 characters in runmqsc output for
the TOPICSTR and SELECTOR attributes of a subscription in
dmpmqcfg were not split over two lines, causing the output to be
invalid when passed to runmqsc as input.

Problem conclusion

  • The dmpmqcfg utility has been updated to split the runmqsc
output from dmpmqcfg for the attributes to be valid for input
