APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the MQ Explorer is started with a clean workspace, the
"Remote appl name" attribute is missing from the list of
available Distributed attributes in the "Standard for Channel
Status" scheme in the scheme editor.

Local fix

  • The missing attribute can be found in the list of z/OS channel
status attributes and can be copied over the distributed list:
    - Start MQ Explorer and expand the queue manager display
    - Right-click "Channels", and click "Status" -> "Channel
      Status..."
    - Click the scheme editor triangle and select "Edit Current
      Scheme..."
    - Click the z/OS tab and check that the "Remote appl name"
attribute is available (should be in position 43).
    - Click the "Copy z/OS to Distributed" button
    - All attributes are copied to the list of Distributed
attributes and the "Remote appl name" will appear in the
      Channel status display.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When MQ Explorer V7.5, V8, or V9 is started with a clean
workspace, the "Remote appl name" attribute is missing from the
list of available attributes for Distributed platforms in the
Standard for Channel Status" scheme in the scheme editor and so
cannot be added to the channel status display.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ Explorer scheme editor code has been fixed to ensure that
the "Remote appl name" attribute appears in the list of
available attributes for Distributed platforms in the "Standard
for Channel Status" scheme, so the attribute can be added to the
    channel status display.
