• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Tivoli Storage Manager client support of CIFS file system is
  incomplete on Linux. As a consequence, the file space for the
  CIFS backup is identified incorrectly with incorrect type.
  
  At first, the file system is added into Tivoli Storage Manager
  backup list as valid, but then during backup path recognition it
  is ignored due to missing logical case for it. The same reason
  prevents using VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT for the path, as Tivoli Storage
  Manager ignores this option if it points to a supported file
  system:

  a "dsmc i" fails with the following error if only a cifs
  filesystem is specified in "Domain" statement like for example
  "domain /xxxcifs".
  
   ANS1071E Invalid domain name entered: '/xxxcifs'
   ANS1149E No domain is available for incremental backup. The
  domain may be empty or all file systems in the domain are
  excluded.

Problem conclusion

• CIFS mount points processed correctly by Backup Archive client.
  Corresponding file space is created on server during backup.
  

Temporary fix

• A fix for this problem is currently targeted for interim fix
  package 7.1.4.4. Until the interim fix is actually available
  this information is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
