IBM Spectrum Protect client 7.1.4.x interim fix downloads

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Performing a Hyper-V VM backup can fail with the following
  message:
  ANS4308E Full VM backup of 'Hyper-V' Virtual Machine 'MY VM1'
  failed with RC=4343 mode=Incremental Forever - Full, target node
  name='IBM', data mover node name='IBM-DM'
  This will only occur under the following conditions:
  1 - The Hyper-V host must be running Windows 2012 R2 Update 1.
  2 - The VM's Check Point File Location is on a separate volume
  or CSV than any of the other settings for the VM.
  Example:
  VHDX1 is on VOLUME1
  VHDX2 is on VOLUME2
  Smart Page file is on VOLUME3
  Check point is on VOLUME4.
  This problem would not happen in this example:
  VHDX1 is on VOLUME1
  VHDX2 is on VOLUME2
  Smart Page file is on VOLUME3
  Check point is on VOLUME2
  Initial Impact: Medium
  Platforms affected: Windows 2012 R2 Update 1.
  Versions affected: 7.1
  

Local fix

• 1 - move the Check Point location to be on the same volume or
  csv as the Smart Page file or VHD/VHDX.

Problem conclusion

• Internal routine that handles the snapshot creation has been
  updated to correctly handle situation when check point is in a
  different location than the OS disk.
  

Temporary fix

• A fix for this problem is currently targeted for Tivoli Storage
  Manager Client on Windows for interim fix package 7.1.4.2
  Note 1: The Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Client is a part of the
  Data Protection for Microsoft Hyper-V. In Data Protection for
  Microsoft Hyper-V environments, the TSM Client is also known as
  the data mover.
