Error description

• Tivoli Storage Manager for Enterprise Resource Planning:
  Data Protection for SAP for Oracle requires access to the
  Microsoft Windows registry key
  HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Prole, in order to
  initialize the dynamically linked library orasbt.dll.
  
  If the access to this registry key is restricted, this may lead
  to the following error being reported by Oracle RMAN:
  
  RMAN-03009: failure of allocate command on sbt_1 channel at
              12/18/2015 14:51:23
  ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE,
             device name:
  ORA-27023: skgfqsbi: media manager protocol error
  ORA-19511: non RMAN, but media manager or vendor specific
       failure, error text:
       Unable to open from register key
       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Prole.

Problem conclusion

• Tivoli Storage Manager for Enterprise Resource Planning
  sbtora.dll library will be modified to open the registry key
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Prole using
  'KEY_QUERY_VALUE' permission instead of 'KEY_ALL_ACCESS'.
  

Temporary fix

• Grant "Full control" permission for the Microsoft Windows
  registry key
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Prole to
  the Oracle Home User.
