• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error Description: It is possible that when the NBD transport
  method is not specified, and the specified transport methods
  fail a snapshot will not be cleaned up. When this happens, the
  NBD transport method will be used even though it is not
  specified. This causes the disks not to be disconnected, leaving
   the snapshot.
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 7.1.2 and above on all
  supported platforms
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics: To determine the issue you can check
  for the following:
  1. The NBD transport mode is not in the list of preferred
  transport methods.
  2. A  trace with trace flag VM shows the following line:
  
  08/13/2015 02:03:04.181 [006492] [300] :
  ..\..\common\vm\vmvddksdk.cpp(2956):
  isExpectedTransport(): no one expected transport mode was found
  .
  
  If that line doesn't contain the transport mode name, then it's
  likely the issue.
  
  3. vddk logs contain line similar to:

Local fix

• Add NBD to the existing Vmvstortransport methods. The snapshots
  can be manually consolidated through VMware and deleted if
  desired.
