Error description

  • Event ID 1000 error message about MsiExec.exe is displayed on
    Windows application eventlog,
    when dsmc or dsm of 32bit version for client 6.3.X and 6.4.X
    is executed.
    
    This problem occurs only when Tivoli Storage Manager Client
    is installed with selecting Japanese language.

Problem conclusion

  • Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client Windows x32 upgrade
    installation was fixed to no longer display the error message as
    a result of running the GUI or commnad line interface.
    

Temporary fix

  • A fix for this problem is currently targeted for interim fix
    package 6.4.3.3. Until the interim fix is actually available
    this information is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
