Error description

  • This problem affects iDRAC (Dell Remote Access System)
    management controllers connected to DELL servers which are being
     managed by IBM Systems Director.
    
    IBM Systems Director is not able to properly manage the iDRAC
    management controllers connected to DELL servers.
    
    For example, out-of-band discovery of an iDRAC management
    controller card connected to a DELL server, will be discovered
    as an operating system due to IBM Systems Director discovering
    SSH as one of the Remote Service Access Protocol (RSAP).
    However, the follow up request access operation fails even if
    the user is giving the correct credentials.
    
    Impact:
    User will not be able to properly manage iDRAC management
    controller via ISD server.
    

Local fix

  • No resolution needed.  This is working as designed.  Out-of-band
     discovery and subsequent management of the iDRAC management
    controller connected to DELL servers is not supported.
    
    User would have to explore other options to get alerts from the
    target iDRAC management controller.  For example, SMTP can be
    configure to send email alerts to a particular user.
