APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TSM VE 7.1.3 File Restore UI attempt to restore more than 399
  selected object to a LINUX vm cause the dsmagent to stop
  working and the FR UI to don't complete the operation.
  
  Affected component is the UNIX BA dsmagent.
  Restore to a Windows VM is not affected.
  
  The problem is present by manual selecting 399 or more objects
  (dirs or files) to restore by using the same file restore
  session.
  The exact number of objects depends on system settings.
  If this number is exceeded then the dsmagent crash and the
  volumes remains mounted in the Linux mount proxy.
  
  In such case a manual cleanup is required by using the following
  command:
  dsmc rest vm <vm_name> -vmrestoretype=mountcleanup
  -mountid=<mountid_number>
  

Local fix

• A workaround to the problem is to use the testflag
  MEMPOOLSIMPLESEARCH in the dsm.opt file.
