Error description

  • The SPE services in Sterling B2B Integartor are too
    restrictive in passing process
data entries into SPE. The current behavior is to define each
element wanted as a service parameter. This rules
out creating generic solutions because what is needed from the
process data tree ahead of time is unknown. We need the ability
to pass in all or part of the process tree using an xpath so
our generic translation solutions will work.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
Any using SPE with Sterling B2B Integrator.

    Problem Description:
Creating generic solutions for calling SPE using the services
in Sterling B2b Integrator is not possible when the process
    data tree is needed.

    Platforms Affected:
    All

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution Summary:
Two new service parameters were added to the SPE services in
    Sterling B2B Integrator:

    XPathToCopyPDToSPE
This service parameter assigns the xpath that will be used to
select all or part of the process data tree in Sterling B2B
Integrator and copy it into SPE. For example:

    - If you want to select the entire PD tree in Sterling B2B
    Integrator use <assign to="XPathToCopyPDToSPE">/*</assign>

    - If you want to select all elements under a specific
    element <assign
    to="XPathToCopyPDToSPE">/ProcessData/SubElementName/*</assign>

    CopyPDFromSPEToElement
This service parameter takes the process data tree returned
from SPE and copies it into a sub-element, identified by this
parm, into the Sterling B2B Integrator process data tree.
    <assign to="CopyPDFromSPEToElement">SPE1</assign>
