APAR status

Error description

  • Customer is experiencing a large amount of system.log files
    being created. For example:
    system.log.D20150527.T091033
    system.log.D20150527.T091113
    system.log.D20150527.T142032
    
    Most of them are small and contain only the following:
    >>>> ALL Security mode is set to 1
    
    It seems that these single system logs are created by an archive
    step. The customer has verified that archive logging is not
    enabled and has an archive.log from more then 100 MB with tons
    of <nul><nul>entries and "ALL Security mode is set to
    1" with a time stamp that exactly matches the system log name.

    in very large numbers, sometimes as frequently as 2 per minute.
